Throughout this project, I had to acquire new skills, such as formatting the boxes and researching online resources. The most challenging aspect was figuring out how to insert links into the website; each link took me at least five minutes to complete. I focused primarily on the design principle of unity, aiming to ensure that my entire webpage was cohesive and understandable for others. I found this project much more enjoyable than creating a PowerPoint presentation. I believe that updating a website to reflect the week's physical education activities would be an excellent way for parents to stay informed about what is happening in the classroom.

As a PE teacher, I find it challenging to come up with ways to use QR codes, but my best idea so far is to use them for labeling items. I recall my PE teacher's room, which was often a mess when it came to storing equipment. While I am not known for being the most organized person, I am working on improving my organizational skills. In the future, I believe phones will automatically scan QR codes to display information, making it easier for students to know where things belong.

The case study I found revealed that teachers are increasingly integrating technology into their lessons. However, they are not explicitly teaching students how to use this technology, resulting in a growing gap in technological proficiency among younger students. It is essential for teachers to find new methods of incorporating technology into their lesson plans. For instance, before college, I had never used Microsoft Excel because I had not been taught how to use it. Yet, Microsoft Excel is one of the most vital organizational tools available.

  1. Hi Connor! I definitely think creating a website as a PE can be difficult when considering information to include that would be beneficial for both your students and their parents. I think you did a great job with your website! You made great use of the CRAP principles, especially with the proximity of your different topics and photos. Overall, your website was aesthetically pleasing and easy to access!

  2. Hi! The first thing that jumped out at me that I really enjoyed was the background photos. It is clear that they directly correlate to your classroom and it can show parents who look at your website a little bit of your personality. Overall, I think your website gets to the point and is easy to navigate!

  4. Hello Connor! I really enjoyed how you organized your website; there's logical flow on your homepage. However, I think that separating these groupings on information on your homepage into different pages would have made your website a bit more visually pleasing and less cluttered in the homepage. Otherwise, I think there is a very good balance of space and text, with additional balance of font size and color.
